Obagi Blue Peel Radiance in Nottingham

Instant Radiance with the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance Treatment

At Park Skin Clinic in Nottingham, we offer the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance — a clinically proven chemical peel that superficially exfoliates the skin to deliver tighter, smoother, brighter-looking skin in a single 30-minute session. Using a unique blend of salicylic, lactic, and glycolic acids at a carefully calibrated pH of 2.7, this treatment achieves immediate, visible results with minimal discomfort and no significant downtime.

Performed by our qualified clinical team, the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance can be applied to the face, décolletage, or hands. It is suitable as a standalone treatment or as part of a course, and pairs seamlessly with a range of Obagi homecare products to extend and enhance your results between appointments.

What Does the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance Treat?

The Obagi Blue Peel Radiance is a salicylic acid-based peel formulated to address a range of common skin concerns, including:

Fine lines and wrinkles

Mild to moderate photodamage and sun-damaged skin

Uneven skin tone and texture

Acne and acne scarring

Dull or lacklustre complexion

For best results, a course of 4 to 6 peels spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart is recommended. Results are visible from the first session, with progressive improvement across the course. If your goals are not fully achieved with the Blue Peel Radiance, your clinician may recommend a stronger peel — such as the Obagi Blue Peel or the Obagi Nu-Derm system — as a next step.

Obagi Blue Peel Radiance – Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance suitable for all skin types?

The Blue Peel Radiance is formulated to be gentle while remaining effective, making it suitable for a wide range of skin types. Your clinician will assess your skin at consultation and confirm suitability. Some clients with highly sensitive skin or specific contraindications may be directed towards an alternative peel or preparation approach.

Is there any downtime?

Downtime is minimal. You may experience mild redness and some peeling in the days following your treatment — this is a normal and expected part of the process. Most clients return to their normal routine immediately, managing any visible effects with the recommended Obagi moisturiser.

How many sessions will I need?

A course of 4 to 6 peels spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart is recommended for optimal results. Individual sessions are also available. Your clinician will advise on the most appropriate approach for your skin concerns at consultation.

Can I combine the peel with other treatments?

Yes — the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance works well alongside other skin treatments offered at Park Skin Clinic. Your clinician can advise on the most effective combination approach and any timing considerations during your consultation.

What if I need a stronger peel?

If the desired results are not achieved with the Blue Peel Radiance, your clinician may recommend progressing to a stronger option such as the Obagi Blue Peel or the Obagi Nu-Derm system. This will be discussed openly and honestly as your treatment progresses.

Is the treatment painful?

The Blue Peel Radiance is formulated to be a gentle peel. Most clients experience a mild tingling or warming sensation during application. Any discomfort is brief and well-tolerated.

Using Obagi Products Alongside Your Peel

Obagi Hydrate and Hydrate Luxe are excellent moisturisers to use after your peel sessions. The Blue Peel Radiance can also be combined with several other Obagi products to further boost results — however, some products require adjustment before your peel appointment. Please discuss your current skincare routine with your clinician at consultation. Key restrictions are as follows:

  • Obagi Nu-Derm system — do not use during the first 6 weeks. After this, use is permitted but stop Exfoderm and Tretinoin/Blend 3 days before each peel
  • Obagi C RX System — stop the exfoliating day lotion 3 days before your peel
  • CLENZIderm M.D. System — stop all products 3 days before your peel; normal use can resume 48 hours after, if your skin can tolerate it

Pre-Treatment Guidelines

At least one week before your peel, avoid:

  • Laser hair removal
  • Waxing or depilatory creams
  • Electrolysis
  • Microdermabrasion

At least 3 days before your peel, avoid the following products:

  • Topical retinoids and tretinoin (including Retin-A, Renova, Differin, Tazoric, Refissa)
  • Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), exfoliating masks, retinol, and benzoyl peroxide

Who Is Not Suitable for This Treatment?

The Obagi Blue Peel Radiance is not suitable for clients who:

  • Have active cold sores, herpes simplex, or warts in the treatment area
  • Have wounded, sunburned, or excessively sensitive skin in the application area
  • Are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have dermatitis or inflammatory rosacea within the treatment area
  • Have used Accutane (isotretinoin) within the last 6 to 12 months
  • Have a history of radiation therapy in the application area
  • Are allergic to salicylates

Suitability is always assessed at your consultation before any treatment proceeds.

Aftercare Guidelines

Mild peeling and redness following treatment are completely normal. Please follow your clinician’s guidance before returning to your regular skincare routine — typically 5 to 7 days after your peel. Key aftercare recommendations include:

  • Sun protection — apply SPF 30 or higher at all times for at least one week after treatment; continued daily SPF use is recommended to protect your results long term
  • Avoid direct sun exposure — excessive sun exposure during healing can hinder recovery and reduce the benefits of the peel
  • Do not exfoliate — avoid picking at or exfoliating any peeling or flaking skin; the dead skin will naturally slough off in its own time
  • Avoid active ingredients — steer clear of AHAs, BHAs, retinoids, retinols, and fragranced facial products for the first few days after treatment; Obagi Hydrate Moisturiser is recommended as a gentle alternative during this period
  • Avoid hair removal — do not wax or use any form of hair removal in the treatment area during the peeling stage
